Vegan Cooking Class - Japanese Watermelon Sashimi Bowl
Time & Location
About the Event
The beauty of Japanese food is that it naturally incorporates seasonal ingredients and many of those ingredients are in fact veggies. Of course with Japan being an island surrounded by water, fish is a big part of their diet. So, in this class we are substituting the tuna sashimi and replacing it with savory watermelon sashimi. We think of watermelon as a sweet treat but in watermelon can transform so beautifully into "fish" with it's texture and ability to take on whatever flavor it's marinated in.
So, join in on this class to learn how to make this yummy bowl filled with some of our favorite summer veggies and fruits over sticky rice. We'll spend 90 minutes diving into the art of Japanese cuisine, the benefits of eating seasonally, and of course how to make an all in one dish that is easy peasy and in tune with Mother Earth.
